Mark Cuban Would Still Have Dinner With Donald Trump

WIRED

The billionaire investor campaigned for Kamala Harris, but thinks tech execs have a "moral imperative" to play nice with the president. Back in May, Mark Cuban appeared in his last episode of ABC's after spending more than a decade on the show investing in--or deprecating--entrepreneurs' big ideas. But that doesn't mean the billionaire is going away. Yes, Cuban loves to talk--about ideas, about the future, about what it takes to actually make America healthy again. Or, at least, to get Americans more affordable drugs, which Cuban is endeavoring to do with his startup, Cost Plus Drug Company. Nor does Cuban, like many billionaire businessmen, shy away from talking politics: Does he like President Trump? But would he join the president for dinner like so many of his peers have in recent months? With enthusiasm, according to a conversation we had for this week's episode of . Keep reading to find out why. Just so you know--well it's too late now--we always start these conversations with some rapid-fire questions. What is the smartest investment you ever made? What's the dumbest purchase you ever made? Alright, one word to describe the startup pitches that you hate. Would you rather invest in passion or in numbers? Tell me a little bit about why.

MAHA Wants Action on Pesticides. It's Not Going to Get It From Trump's Corporate-Friendly EPA

WIRED

It's Not Going to Get It From Trump's Corporate-Friendly EPA The White House's new Make America Healthy Again strategy makes some asks of the EPA--but critics say the agency is too industry-friendly to make a difference. When Jean-Marie Kauth first read the Make America Healthy Again commission report, released by the White House in May, she was "thrilled about some of the things they identified," she says. "They clearly called out industry as a pernicious influence on why EPA has not been very successful in regulating chemicals, especially pesticides." Kauth's daughter died of leukemia at age 8 after, Kauth says, she was exposed to the insecticide chlorpyrifos, which the EPA banned in 2021. Kauth, a professor at Benedictine University in Illinois, now serves as a member of the EPA's Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee (CHPAC), a group of outside experts who advise the agency on children's health issues.

"USAi isn't just another tool, it's infrastructure for America's AI future," GSA Chief Information Officer David Shive explained.

FOX News

Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa., said after the House Intelligence Committee's classified briefing on New Jersey drones, she's not concerned about any threat and it's irresponsible to scare the public. Drones spotted flying over Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Southern California over the past week posed no threat to operations at the installation, according to reports. James C. Sartain told The Warzone that between Dec. 9 and 15, "there were six instances of unmanned aerial systems (UAS)" seen entering the airspace over Camp Pendleton. Sartain also said the UAS did not pose any threat to installation operations. The publication also learned from base personnel that countermeasures to take out the drones were not necessary as air and ground operations were not impacted.

We are vulnerable to drone attack and it's going to get worse

FOX News

We've lost the ability to protect our own airspace. We have a complacent and incompetent Biden administration in charge that has set our drone industry back years. President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration can't come soon enough. We need an overhaul of our drone defenses nationwide. Our national security infrastructure is not set up to defend against what's coming.
